I'm Khoa Phan. I build systems at the intersection of distributed architecture, AI, and security.
I'm a software engineer with 10+ years of experience building systems at the intersection of distributed architecture, security, AI, and real-world incentives. I'm most energized by hard technical problems with sharp edges: data-intensive platforms, developer infrastructure, confidential computing, and security-sensitive systems.
Across startups and independent work, I've founded Backbone Labs and built a hardware product that generated $467k in Kickstarter pre-orders, architected core financial protocols at Dinero that later secured $200M+ in assets, earned a $100k bug bounty from Compound, and built confidential computing and verifiable AI prototypes at Ritual Foundation.
Most recently, I've been building Specta, a real-time sports intelligence platform, where I designed data pipelines, AI-driven analysis workflows, and autonomous developer tooling. In parallel, I'm developing a proprietary multi-agent engineering harness to accelerate planning, implementation, and iteration across complex software systems.
